Grants Resource Center (GRC) GrantSearch

  • 1,600 funding opportunities hand-selected for higher education institutions and faculty, primarily from federal agencies and major foundations. Brief program synopses are written by D.C.-based experts in higher education funding.

Foundation Directory

  • Describes 100,000 U.S. foundations and their funding histories; does not list federal or state grant opportunities. Good tool for finding funding opportunities for community outreach activities. Search Grantmakers to find foundations or Search Grants to see records of grants given by particular foundations or for particular causes or geographic areas. 
  • Access: Available on campus without logging in, and off campus by logging in with your name and Banner ID. Access provided by Belk Library & Information Commons.

International Teaching, Research, and Creative Activity Funding and Resources

  • Compiled information for researchers interested in working abroad. 

Federal & National Sponsors

  • listing of Federal & National funding agencies, along with information about the types of research these agencies fund. 

Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU)

  • ORAU is a university consortium leveraging the scientific strength of 115 member institutions in 31 states to advance science and education by partnering with national laboratories, including Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), government agencies, and private industry.
  • ORAU core competencies are in the fields of radiation emergency response and operational readiness; environmental health, analysis and communication; forensic analysis; science workforce development and evaluation; and, technical training.

University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR)

  • UCAR is a consortium of more than 100 member colleges and universities focused on research and training in the atmospheric and related Earth system sciences. Their members set the directions and priorities for the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), which UCAR manages with sponsorship by the National Science Foundation. Through their community programs, UCAR supports and extends the capabilities of the academic consortium.
